Why, you ask? Because when I am in the area or on a job, I tend to keep to myself until I whip out my camera and start shooting. People come up and ask questions, which most times I am happy to answer… or they look over my shoulder to see the image on the back of my camera… or they listen to how I coach the person into that perfect position, using the right amount of light. But it could also be because I’m a pretty big guy. I’m tall with pretty broad shoulders…lol.
Hi… I’m Lance Tyler.
I have been a photographer for a long time. I got started shooting professionally back in 2001 (not too long after the 9-11 tragedy…which by the way, is also my birthday. Sadly, no one will ever forget my birthday ever again). But I was always fascinated with cameras ever since I was 12 or 13 (remember the old Spiderman cartoon… the way Peter Parker would have the camera around his neck? Yup… that was me!)
I am also a Photoshop expert. And a web designer / web master / web developer.
I really don’t like to “toot my own horn” because normally I’m a pretty modest and quiet person. I also don’t proclaim to be the “best” of anything. Because every day is a learning experience and that experience, no matter where it came from or what it was, can make you better than you are from having learned it. “The best” is such a finite position. Its perfection…and we all know that no one is perfect. On the other hand, being “better” is where I strive to be on a daily basis…and so should you!
Everyone has a lot to learn. And once you learn it, you should give back to others, by teaching what you have learned. Which is also what I do!
So what does all this rambling that I’m doing, have to do with you?
