One day, while I was working my retail job, a customer came in with a computer problem. I struck up a conversation with her, criticizing and picking on her about her cell phone (you all know how much I’m not a big fan of the Icrap that people are getting caught up with buying)… you know, teasing her a bit.
So, while Erin, the manager, was looking up the part for her computer, the conversation shifted to our “side businesses”. And wouldn’t you know it, she just happened to be looking for a reputable photographer.

Ok… so after a month or so of preparation and training, we set a date for her shoot. This is to be her first professional photo shoot. So needless to say I wanted to make sure that she was comfortable with working with me and was happy with the outcome of the images that we did. So up until yesterday, we would speak maybe once or twice a week, while she was researching images and concepts for her session that she might want to recreate. She has a good eye! She found a lot of pictures that she used as a reference. And being a novice, I made sure that what she envisioned was done to her liking.
We did the shoot at her gym. The first part of the shoot was a bit hectic for her because the gym was unusually crowded for it to be a Sunday. She commented on the fact that it is pretty dead on a normal Sunday at 5pm…but here it was pretty packed with about 40 patrons trying to get a workout in. No biggie… we took our time with the setup and got started shooting right after the last person left.
It was GREAT!!
Crystal kept saying that she wasn’t photogenic and that she needed help with posing… Nah!! You did just fine!! I didn’t have to do or say much at all.
What do you think?
